X2 that glass is expensive to reproduce, there's no auto dim glass on our mirrors...well at least for now.

Tow Mirrors
Well,
I got my mirrors installed today. Took about 45 minutes. I did notice that neither one pulls in as tight as the stock mirrors towards the top point. It's close on the drivers side, but there is a decent gap on the passenger. No whistling as others have reported. The mirrors were plug and play, I just lose my autodim on the drivers side, no big deal. The 2nd signal light was pre-wired as my puddle lamp.
The glass does not seem as high of quality as the OEM. I see distortion in both mirrors that I don't see in the OEM glass. That said it's not the worst I've seen by a long shot, and for the 1/3 price of OEM you can imagine that the quality had to change somewhere.
The build is very solid. The powerfold works well. There is a difference between the speed on each side. The drivers is a bit slower. My OEM's were the same.
In all I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. I'll need to watch the gap on the mirrors, hopefully the foam will compress a bit and they will seat.

i didn't get a response the first time but, does any one else's heated mirrors no longer work? If so can anyone tell me what pin and color wire the heated mirror is on both sides so I can switch it to match the truck pin out to the mirrors.

Hey Tony or for others who have these power fold tow mirrors. Do they breakaway like the ford ones if hit by accident? Trying to make my final decision on these for my XLT or just to get manual tow mirrors.
Thanks,

Just got these installed on my 2010 XLT and I love them. Kit installed was the upgrade kit with the wiring harness #1AMRP01439. I also did a amber marker light swap to look more OEM. If anyone gets this upgrade kit I have put a few notes below from my install. Great kit and works really well. Great Job A1Auto!
2010 XLT Install Notes:
- If you want amber marker lights. Order part number 1AMLP00002. Online you will find it under F250 and up and not under F150. Also if you call in your order ask for it to fit a F250. Person I got on the phone told me that this part number will not work for the F150 Power Fold Tow Mirrors and that amber is not available. They will fit as you can see and come with new clear bulbs.
- Kit does not come with a fuse tape for the marker lights like shown in the YouTube video. At least on a 2010, you cannot fuse tape to the parking lamp circuit #22. The marker lights will stay on all the time, so you will need to wire tap to the parking lamp circuit harness at the fuse box. On my 2010 I wire taped into Pin 6 (Violet/White Stripe) on the large grey connector seen below.
- Power Fold power was supplied by a fuse tap into #35 (Reverse sensing system) My 2010 does not have this in the bumper so I used this circuit. Also only on when key is turned.
- Harness to switch could have been longer. Had to add some wire to get it up to the dash location I wanted.
- All wires ran through door rubber boots with no issue. My 2010 did not have that special door harness connector seen in some posts.
- Came with a note not seen in other posts. Says the mirrors are designed to be folded manually upon impact. Good to hear.
- Mirror fit is pretty good. Only a small gap on the top of passenger side one. Playing with the foam padding really help getting it in close. I am sure overtime and with the summer heat it will sit down that last 1/16" of an inch.
- Driver side mirror folds just a little bit slower than passenger side. Not a huge deal for me as long as they fold.

They are made to collapse inward if your driving down the road and you hit mirrors with another truck, of if someone walks into them coming towards them.
Hope this helps you out.

Oops
Sorry didn't fully read I guess lol
I replaced my OE standard size power fold mirrors with a pair of the OEM power fold/power telescope tow mirrors.
Both sets of mirrors folded exactly the same speed. And the power telescoping feature extends/retracts the mirrors at the exact same rate as well.
At the very end of the short video below you can see I fold the OEM tow mirrors in, and they both fold at exactly the same rate:

Can anyone with these verify that the caps are removable? I want to add chrome caps and Tony said they wouldn't work with the powerfold leaving me to believe that the caps are not removable and one solid piece?
I read some posts about the f250 caps but they are the same part number as the f150 on 1A website. I really want a set of these but have to have the chrome caps to match the rest of my truck.
