- I taped all edges of the blinker/marker light and still had the whistle. I'll have to get more creative I guess. I'm thinking it may just be a burr or something on an uneven surface. If the whistle wouldn't go away when I fold them in, I'd be looking elsewhere on the truck haha
Sounds good

Tony, I spoke to the tech support guys and they said they haven't heard of the whistling problem yet but they will be shipping me a new mirror tomorrow. He is also checking on the gap at the bottom for me.
I couldn't ask for better customer service!

How's the fit along the bottom edge? where the mirror plastic and truck body meet? is there a gap like in my pictures a few post back?

Let me know how the new mirror works for you. I have a whistle I can't get rid of either on the driver side. My fit is good and I am just living with the whistle because I love the mirrors.

Waldo - I'll let you know. I should receive the mirror Monday. I should have it on by Tuesday as UPS passes about 8pm at my house. I would live with the whistle but my truck is so quiet, it was very audible and I'm the type where that noise would drive me crazy. The tech and I think it is a defect in the plastic mold. I have taped EVERYTHING, replaced the foam, added larger washers to the bolts, checked all window and door seals. The whistle only goes away when the mirror is folded in.

Even with the oem's they are a touch more noisy. The price we pay to have sexxy dumb ears I guess

I went down to MT to pick up my mirrors last weekend. I installed them today. They are enormous! The visibility is outstanding and build quality is near OEM. There is a bit more wind noise but nothing major. They don't mount as well as I had hoped but I am quite ****. I think there may be a part of the mirror base contacting the steel of the door thereby preventing a factory tight finish. I have to have a small gap either at the top or bottom which leads me to believe they pivot on some point of contact in between. I must investigate later when time allows. For now, I can't wait for camping season to resume!

Extended in anticipation..

You can get them with the chrome caps? Or did you snag some oem super duty versions?
