i currently pull a 24ft starcraft weighing in dry about 5300. I pull with a 2016 F150 2.7 with WD hitch and a Equalizer sway control. I need to hear from anyone out there that has similiar TT and truck and hear your positives and negatives on how much I can pull etc thanks

Not enough info.
Truck Model Trim
GVWR off Door Cert Sticker
Payload off Door Payload Sticker.
Any additional equipment added to truck.
Passenger and Cargo Weight normally in truck.

Truck in my signature pulls 7000 lb enclosed car hauler with 800 lb tongue weight. With a 50 lb spray in Bedliner, 600 lb passengers and cargo and a 80 lb WDH I end up about 500 lb under GVWR, 400 lb under R. GAWR and 300 lb under GCWR. Power isn't the problem she will pull a 7% Grade at 65 mph at part throttle and less than 3000 rpm in 4th.

Looks like 12600 GCWR / 7600 Tow Rating if it's a Screw.
Looks like you are pretty close to the same curb weight as my truck. Considering you carry about 300 lb less of Accessories, Cargo and Passengers that should make up for the 250 lb higher GVWR I have. Looks like you could get pretty close to your 1110 hitch weight and a 7500 lb trailer weight if everything was just right. Your EQ 1000 is likely around 80 lb and that gives you about
1030 for true tongue weight.

Best bet is to weigh your truck and see if your around the 5100 lb (with passengers and dog) I think.

Ford usually leaves about 50 lb wiggle room between GVWR and Payload to account for production tolerances.

Don't forget to watch your GAWR as well.

Do some searching on my posts. I pull a 7000 TT with my 2.7 but I have the payload pckg and a 1718 payload. Toes great except for I notice elevated engine coolant temps on steep grades and some bouncy. Overall pretty good though. It pulls the trailer like a freight train.

Ive read alot of your posts over the past few months, but missed if you've tuned yet?

If you have with sct x4 or the like, which gauges do you display ( if you keep it plugged in while towing.

thank you,

I don't have a tuner. I'd love one but I'm of the belief that if anything could be better ford would have designed it that way. I don't see the incentive for them to hold back.

Plus I have plenty of power so don't see a need.

I've got a 19' TT that weighs about 3700lbs. dry. I've got a '10 xlt with the 5.4L and am looking at getting a new 17 or 18 F150 XLT and was wondering which engine to get. After reading these posts and seeing that some of you are pulling up to 7000lbs, I'm pretty confident that the 2.7 will easily suit my needs.
These forums are invaluable. Thanks for your input.

It works for towing probably no more than once per month. Any more and I'd get a super duty. The engine has no difference. It's plenty powerful. It's the half ton.

Nighthawk makes a good point. Big difference between a 40 mi round trip tow 30 times a year (1200 mi) plus maybe another 1200 mi for 2400 mi a year total like I do and someone towing 20,000+ a year.
