Default Electric brake wiring question.

What gauge of wire do I use from the dash mounted brake controller to the trailer connector at the back? I am using a Bargman 7 way trailer connector and a Drawtite controller. Will be towing a GVW of only 3000 lbs.

12ga or 14ga will work fine.

Drawtite usually tells you what gauge to run in the instructions- if not-
what KRIEGHOFF said 12ga to 14ga should be good enough. Use the 12ga for the
battery pwr if your running it back there all others can use 14ga no problem.
Just make sure you have a good ground also- that'll drive you nuts if you don't! Good Luck

To minimize the ground I have always run 3 wires back. 12vdc, ground, and brake signal. I tend to ground using the same body ground as the main power distrucbution panel in the engine.
