Damn Brulaz, that is awesome payload for a non-hd.

I am not sure what the trend is all about in regards to wheel capacity. It's not even marked on the vehicle. The wheels will NEVER be the payload bottleneck. It's kind of a stupid topic and wish it would die already.

Heh, look at some of the Reg cab 4x2's. Add HD payload and you're over 3000# payload. You can commonly find those on the lots around here in XL white as work trucks for construction.

And yes, the wheels can handle the truck's GVWR and GAWRs.

But when you overload the truck, and if you switch to LT - E tires to handle the extra weight, can the original wheels handle the weight and the psi needed by the tires for that weight? Well, now we know they can only handle the weight the axle is rated at. And that's all we really need to know.

I have a 2012 screw5.5 lariat...
GVWR 7650#
Payload 1703#
GCWR 17000#
Max Tow 11200#
Front GAWR 3750#
Rear GAWR 4050#
..... So to the math if I load up the family; 650#, Fuel; 220#....no cargo I'm left with 933# for payload. If I have a 6000# trailer and calculate 15% for the tongue weight that's another 900# I'm essentially left with snacks in the cab. Lol. I'm left with all my cargo for the trailer is sitting at home. If my vech weight is 5947# and I add the 6000# trailer + 1700 in payload I've got a GCWR of 13674#. This is well under the 17000#. The thing I don't understand is how do I ever legally pull a 11200# trailer if I have a 6000# truck and a calculated tongue wt of 1680#. This leaves me 23# for me and minimal fuel to at least start the truck. I'm sure a weight distribution system would help but it can't help that much. How do you tow that trailer and boat. Is my math wrong??

My camper is a 2011 Cross roads Zinger RL290 it is built to be towed with a half ton truck, it has the wide spread axles and the water tanks are in the rear so pin weight is reduced, dry weight is 6200lbs, my boat is a 2006 Glastron mx175 it weights 3200lbs, I have had this setup on the scale many times it weighs 16,500lbs to 17,500lbs depending on cargo and water and people in the truck. the most the truck alone has weighed was 8050lbs with the camper weight and a load of wood in the box and four people, its almost always around 7400-7600 lbs with me in it.
