Default Difference in weight/ tow ratings

Just wondering what the actual differences were between the max tow and standard f150s

Reason for asking, I'm considering a new truck and I'm wondering if a max tow ecoboost would be enough of an upgrade to justify. My 5.0 is sufficient for power, but I'd like a heavier suspension. My truck feels a little unsettled when loaded down. I'm within my weights, but would like some overkill.

My 5.0 HDPP is rated at 9,30lb towing. I think the max for the Eco is 10,500lb.

My 2016 ecoboost max tow xlt 4x4 145" is rated at 11,500 towing. I did also put air lift 5000 bags in the rear to help with sag and sway.

I'm pretty sure that the Max Tow package does not include upgraded suspension or running gear (apart from the 3.73 differential ratio).
I'd suggest the (hard-to-find) ecoboost with the Heavy Duty Payload package instead.

So the only difference in HD Payload is heavier suspension in the rear and better tires? I wondered about this myself.

What is the GAWR of the front and rear axles in the HD Payload trucks? Mine are 3450 and 3800 in my Max Tow SCREW 4X4 XLT. Which also doesn't equal the GVWR of 7000 that it has.

The Load Lifter 5000 Ultimate.

I found a good write up about this issue. http://mellomikeadventures.us/2012/0...rucks-payload/

That explains a little about why my GVWR doesn't match my total GAWR of both axles. I can gain a little by my tires as well. Because if I take my payload minus tongue weight of the camper minus 6 passengers and our German Shepherd and gear, it puts me pretty close to max payload weight. That doesn't count gas in the tank. Now, as for gear that's something that can be adjusted by putting it into the rear of the camper. Not only would this seem to help the weight of the cargo in the truck but also with the hitch weight. So this trick could potentially help those that are getting close to the max payload as long as you don't overload your GVWR of the camper.

Several threads on the differences. In my gen - larger rear axle, stiffer springs, thicker frame, 7 lug wheels. I think the max tow does have a different hitch. Towing rating from Ford always favored the ecoboost. IMO it's for sales.
Front GAWR 4,050 Rear GAWR 4,800 GVWR 8,200
The front and rear don't add to the total because they are individual ratings.
Tires and wheels must be rated for the highest axle. Hence mine are 2,400lb minimum.

my truck is a supercrew with 3.55s and the 5.0. On fords site, my tow rating is 7700. So a max tow ecoboost at 11500(or whatever they are rated for) has the same suspension as my truck? Guess I'm just wondering if it will handle the trailer any different or if I need to upgrade to an f250.
