I looked at the sticker and it was 1789. When I tow it it will be as empty as possible. What does the max tow add? I tried looking it up some but couldn't find it. I had to rush and buy a truck and talking with the salesman this truck seemed the best fit for my situation.

To check on factory payload and towing specs, click on http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/specifications/payload/

As per Ford Build site, Max Trailer Tow Package includes:

• 3.55 Electronic-locking rear axle
• 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• Auxiliary transmission oil cooler
• Class IV trailer hitch receiver
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector (standard on LARIAT and higher)
• Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
• Upgraded front stabilizer bar
• Upgraded rear bumper

The power-fold extending towing mirrors are separate order, and not included in Max Trailer Tow Package for 2015.
The Max Trailer Tow Package does not increase payload.

Additional payload comes only from the Heavy Duty Payload Package (which isn't being built and none are on dealer lots) or buying a truck with fewer options. The weight of moonroof, subwoofers, skid plates, bliss/adaptive cruise, chrome, power-deployable running boards, box steps, bed divider, 20-inch wheels, etc., all detract from your useable cargo limit. The maximum available payload on your truck is 2080, so your factory-installed accessories weigh 291 pounds which isn't really bad at all.

Unfortunately, you can get a truck with maximum capability or technology/bling, but not both (unless you go up to a Super Duty).

Good job, Velosprout . It's nice to see at least a few members that don't spout nonsense.

Clarification. There are two tow packages for the 2015 F-150. The regular tow pkg includes:

• 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• Auxiliary transmission oil cooler
• Class IV trailer hitch receiver
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector

The Max tow pkg adds:
• 3.55 Electronic-locking rear axle
• Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
• Upgraded front stabilizer bar
• Upgraded rear bumper

The • 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• Auxiliary transmission oil cooler
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector

are the same in both tow packages. The receiver in the Max Tow pkg has 100 pounds more tongue weight capacity than the one in the regular tow pkg.

For 2011 through 2014, the max tow pkg included telescoping tow mirrors. For 2015, the tow mirrors are a stand-alone option and no longer included with the max tow pkg.

Mine has the integrated trailer brakes. Were would I look to see the rest of it. When I looked at the window sticker it didn't say anything about the rest that I noticed, but I'll check again.

You said you have a 3.31 rear end - therefore you DO NOT have the max tow package.

You can check under your bumper. Lie down and look up and you'll see a sticker on the hitch that has the hitch rating limits.

The 2015 standard tow and max tow packages both have the same max weights for a "weight carrying" hitch (not a WDH) of max trailer weight 5000/max tongue weight 500.

With a WDH, the 2015 standard tow package is (I believe), 11,100/1110, and the max tow is 12,200/1220.

So....lie down under the rear bumper and look up and you'll be able to tell if you have the max tow package or not. Butt....as has been mentioned, if you don't have at least a 3.55 rear end then you DO NOT have max tow.

.

I'll do that thanks. He just threw me off because I have the integrated brakes and he is saying according to ford they only come standard on the ones with the max tow if I read it right.

I do have the 11000/1000 hitch which is a class 5. I guess they put the integrated brakes on ones that didn't have the max tow package too.
