Default Curt spring bars (weight dist.)

I am looking to replace my spring bars for my weight distribution set up. My current bars are worn out. Wondering if anyone has ever used Curt spring bars part nos. 17105 (800 lbs) or the 17106 (1000 lbs) and if they are good. The Husky bars have a "range" rating i.e 600-800 lbs. Curt only gives one number. I am guessing it's the max range! Sizing, my current bars are 1". Curt does not specify so are all bars 1"?

I was looking at the Husky 31521 (800-1000 lbs) but local distributor is a pain to deal with and more expensive.

It never occurred to me that you could substitute spring bars of one manufacturer for another. I would always get bars made by the same manufacturer for the WDH head you have. Are you sure the Curt bars will work with a Husky WDH?

I don't have the spec on my WDH head, no markings. My bars don't have a label either. I've tried a friends husky bars and they snapped in fine. There are different types of spring bars as you say, but I'm specifically talking about the round bars that are notched, have the 90 deg. bend and that insert up into the WDH.

Sounds like the 1000# bars I have, they look like Husky round bar but with a different name. Heidi RV down here near Barrie can get the Huskies ...

But maybe you need heavier bars, if you say the old ones are too weak.

My old bars are stamped 750lbs and they are streched right to the bottom of the trailer frame (almost touching) and the back of my truck is still sagging. By buddies 800-1000 lbs husky bars barely bend when I hook up with them. LOL. I think my bars are done.

Just drove past Heidi's last week lol. I should have stopped!
