JCooper I appreciate that. This will be our second season with a travel trailer. I have been towing for years, but I soon realized there is a huge difference between this lunch box on wheels and my car or utility trailers. This is our first travel trailer. They sure act different! All a learning curve. Appreciate the advice!

Within 1/2-3/4 of an inch.

Iguess it doesnt say much?

Here is a picture of it.

I will end up getting a distribution hitch wether im able to do or go lighter. I guess i just need to research the hitches. I will not compromise safety for my family, nor the others around me so if that means i cant have this trailer, so be it.

I would say you're going to run out of payload with only 1500# Too much trailer IMO…

...
Dry hitch weight (955#) is 15% of the dry trailer weight (6338#).

Put anything in the trailer and you'll be up to the truck's receiver rating of 1150#.

Subtract that 1150# plus 50# for a WDH from your truck's payload (1521#) leaves only 321# for you, the wife, kids and gear.

EDIT: The WDH might reduce tongue's load on the truck by 20%, taking maybe 225# off the truck and onto the trailer's axles. This would give you maybe 321+225 = 546# for people and stuff in the truck.

Beautiful trailer, but it would be pretty hard not to go over Ford's weight ratings depending upon what's in the truck.

Have you added any accessories to the truck? My payload sticker says 1636# but after I've added a hard bed cover, small tool box, misc gear, wife, kid, 36gal fuel, WD hitch, and a few travel amenities on the interior and my available payload has dropped to 1170#. That's 466# of realistic cargo right off the top before you even hook the trailer up. Damn half tons..
