The Platinum just has lots of extras and they all bring down the payload.

For what its worth. I have a 2014 XLT 157 Max Tow SuperCrew and my payload is 1720.

At some point, it becomes all about payload. I replace a TT with a new 32' one last year thinking i'd be fine since the TT weights in at 8300 lbs loaded and a tongue weight of 810 lbs. But, then I started doing the math on payload (after the purchase.... really dumb mistake but I'll chalk it up to being a rookie). If I load my truck up for dry camping which is typical of the camping we do, then my payload with 2 dirt bikes, a generator, fuel, extra water, 2 large dogs, and my wife and I... well it was not good. 2300# or more... On top of that, the guzzleboost range (mileage) was reduced by 60% or more depending on hills and weather conditions.

A number of member here stated that I was way past the half ton capacity, and after spending the winter pondering this and beating myself up, I came to the conclusion that I either had to make some changes... either in the tow vehicle or TT. Well, both were new (TT and F150) and we really enjoy the summer recreation so in the end, the Guzzleboost was traded for a SD diesel.
