I think I am settling on this one, its all aluminum, the weight is in range of the vehicle if I don't over load it with too many bikes and other stuff. My work just notified me I will be moving jobs, sending family to Houston while I go to North Va on temp duty assignment until My June time frame. Can my truck full this on multi thousand mile hauls with 2 k of bikes and equipment in it and can I live in this for 8 - 10 months?

With a 5.0 and a 3.73, it is doable with that toy hauler. If you have 2k of stuff and keep the rest at 1k lbs max, your right at the max. But don't take the total cargo weight (cloths, food, water and etc ) above 3k. And watch the tongue weight.

The Grey Wolf 25 or the Carbon 19 would be my two picks for your truck. Both are the lightest by 1000 pounds and the lowest hitch wieght.

Pull it? - without overheating anything in the drivetrain and without being the slowpoke holding up traffic on hills and interstate mountain passes?

Probably, provided you keep the gross combined weight down to less than about 15,000 pounds. That's what the GCWR of your tow vehicle (TV) tells you.

But your trailer loaded with 2,000 pounds of toys is probably going to gross around 9,000 pounds if you minimize the other weight in the trailer. And it's very easy to load your F-150 to more than 6,000 pounds when towing. With a 9,000-pound toy hauler and a 6,000 pound tow vehicle, you're at the limit of being able to pull it safely.

But pull it without overloading the suspension of the tow vehicle is another story. That's where your GVWR and resulting payload capacity of your TV come into play.

Your trailer is probably going to gross about 9,000 pounds if you are very careful about not hauling anything heavy in the trailer, towing with empty holding tanks and, move unneeded stuff out of the trailer into storage. Plan ahead and travel with almost no food and drinks in the pantry and reefer. Remove the bed from the garage area. With just one of you on the road, you don't need to haul the extra weight of that bed. Leave it in Houston so you can load it back in the trailer while home in Houston, then remove it before heading back to VA.

Based on the dry weights of your trailer, your wet and loaded toy hauler will probably have hitch weight of around 12.5% of gross trailer weight. 12.5% of 9,000 is 1,125 pounds of tongue weight. So your 1,507 pounds of available payload just went down to 382 pounds with the trailer tied on. Subtract the weight of your fat **** and your WD hitch and you can see there's not much capacity left for more payload.

So can you do it without being overloaded? Yes, but only if you play close attention to your weights. The CAT scale is your friend. Use them.

...and can I live in this for 8 - 10 months?
I could, and lots of homeless people would kill for that nice of a place to live. But can you? Only you can answer that.

When looking for a semi-permanent RV park, be sure the provisions for cable TV and internet access meets your requirements.

However, you need to do more research to be sure that Axxess agrees that your trailer is suitable for full-time living. Keystone Sprinter warns that my 5er is NOT suitable for living in it more than a few weeks at a time, because it's not designed to get rid of the excess humidity caused by cooking and bathing and just breathing.

The yuppie answer: no, it's too heavy.
Guys with real world towing experience: not a problem.

I would say that the Yuppies are more likely to say it's ok since most don't have a CDL or any mechanical knowledge of how vehicle ratings and tow ratings come into play.

I guess there's some none Yuppies that are careless and just don't care about their safety or others even when knowing about the ratings. Ignorance or stupidity, which is the worse?

Overloading a few thousand pounds is not an issue

Mike the uncaring yuppies are called hippies, hehehe, thanks for the enlightenment gents , on towing and yuppies. I havent towed much except atv trailers since the army but I am a pretty good driver, I have towed a vulcan with a gamma goat, not much harder or more complicated towing than that IMO, I also drove a tractor trailer with two m163's on it across Germany when my driver showed up drunk/hung-over, dam transport guys.

I am getting a good offer on a 30 footer that is within the 26 footer price, I think it would be stressing my truck a little too much what do you all think?

Hitch weight of trailer vs payload capacity of your truck. What are you comfortable with? I tow a 32' trailer (including hitch) that weighs just under 6000# with a 5.0, 3.73. I also have a payload capacity of 1490# so I end up close to 90% of payload on the truck all packed up and ready to go. Tows great, by the way - 11.5 mpg last trip (best ever, usually right around 11.1).
