I feel you'll be fine, just respect the weight. The softer suspension will of course remind you of this, but the truck will handle it.

Default Have my truck it's great

My truck with the HD payload package has come in and I'm really enjoying it. I haven't done any towing yet, though - I'm looking at options for equipment trailers to tow my tractor. It's a green Lariat with Adobe interior. I'll try to post pics.

Regarding the ride of the F150 with the HD Payload Package versus the non-HD, I'd say that the HD payload package is a bit stiffer, but still comfortable. It feels maybe half-way between a regular F150 and an F250, both of which I test drove at dealerships. I like it. It doesn't feel wish-washy - feels firm like a truck should be.

I would say that I'm aware the back-end has some stiffnes and spring to it. I bet this thing drives particularly well when trailering something.

I was concerned about not getting the 20 inch wheels, but the 17 inchers look just fine. I actually like the wheels better than many of the other options available - they look traditional / timeless, not trendy.

Default Truck Towing Tractor

This weekend I did 2 test drives with the trailer/tractor hooked to the truck. One in my neighborhood, the other out on the interstate and another 55 MPG highway.

I ended up buying a trailer that weighed more than I planned, so the whole rig weighs in at about 10,800 lbs.

The truck pulled it just fine, and I felt in control the whole time. Going up decent sized hills I had to push my foot on the gas to maintain speed, but the Ecoboost was responsive, even though you could tell it was working. As another person said, it wasn't a rocketship, but it did the job. It manages a lot of power at low RPMs - 1500-2000. I'm planning on a longer trip next weekend so will have more to share.

Again, I have the max trailer tow and heavy duty payload package with Ecoboost.

If I was towing every week, I might consider a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel. Disclaimer: I've never towed this much weight, and never owned a diesel, so can't compare.

I ended up buying a Load Trail 14k trailer, and an Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch.

Here's a photo of the whole setup.
