Buying a trailer sight-unseen from online forclosure
My father and I have been looking for a 16-20' flatbed utility trailer to haul his ford 3600 loader tractor and to haul supplies for my small jobs. We need something heavier than the stand 16ft with 2x3500lbs axles. We want something with 10,000 axles atleast. I found this online auction that is forclosing a large scale farms entire property. You are not allowed to call about it, look at it, and must get it within 5 days of closing. They have a 2002 MacLander flatbed with a no bids, no reserve and only a two days left. It looks like a 16 or 18 footer. Here it is.
Now i can't tell if it is the light duty mac trailer or the medium duty.
Here is the stock photo of the light and then the med duty

Keepin' the lights on!
Those look like 5k or 7k axles. Looks pretty good though.

8 lug wheels. I'm saying the heavier model.
It would be tough to know for sure based on that alone as I believe you can get 8 lug axles starting as low as 7,000 lb rating. I would say they are at least 7,000 lb axles if not higher.

Thanks guys. And 8 lug, good call. If this possible, I counted the hashes in in hazzard tape and compared it to the amount of hashes in the 16' and 18' and it looks like this is an 18 footer. What do you go guys think is a safe sight unseen price? I was thinking $1000 would be safe. There could be a number of issues, bad tires from sitting, needs wiring, bent axles, bad brakes. Its definately a risk

Looks like roughly 6-8K axles. Only insight will be that my little brother bought a trailer that needed a little work and after he brought it home and had it in the neighbors shop we noticed an axle had a crack in it. He didn't even notice it looking in person but we will look far closer in the future.

I emailed maclander trailers the id number and they sent me this info.........................It brings up a Model 18TSLWB, 18' Skid Loader wood floor with beaver tail, Red, with 2- 7000 lb axles 12,000 GVWR.
Check to see that this matches the trailer

I'd buy it in a heartbeat for a grand. Even if it needed a new axle or breaks or lights or tires. I bought my 16 ft landscape trailer on an axle, 3 tires, new breaks, and new wiring. Total cost was like $1200. Trailer alone would have been $2k.
