Default Brake controller question

Just got a 12 f150 crew cab. It has the hitch and harness at the back. My question is what brake controller are people using and how are they being mounted?

I had the integrated Ford controller installed. It is awesome.

How much does that cost? Does it mount where the pocket is on the right side of the steering wheel?

Yes it does mount there. Check accessories.Ford.com or. Ca for local pricing. Installation can be done by yourself, but the module needs to be programmed by a Ford dealer. Install and program is about an hour if I recall.

I had mine installed when I bought it. Don't remember now what the cost was, but it is much, much better than the Prodigy I had before.

It was about $250 installed at the dealership. I agree, much better than any aftermarket units available. Worth the extra $$.

Another vote for the ford controller. I ordered it online, installed it myself, and had the dealer turn it on. They charged me $50 to do it, can't remember what I paid for the unit online but it was not bad, and it is a simple plug-in install.

It is worth it IMO, the truck works with it better, keeps track of the trailer mileage.
