Default Overdrive and tow-haul mode

out of three f150s we own. the 2005 on 33s. the 97 on 35s, and the 2009 stock. all of these have the 5.4 in them. I want to know at what weight of a load would be the time to turn the over drive off or put it in tow haul mode. I know the 09 has engine braking in tow haul but the other two do not. is it a good idea with any trailer or only with heavy trailers? Thanks

On the trucks with a OD on/off switch I would turn OD off if the tranny is in and out of OD. If it stays in OD, let it stay. As for the trucks with tow haul mode. I turn it on whenever im towing regardless of weight. The tow/haul mode still goes into OD it just brings the rpms up a little higher in each gear before shifting . Once your in 6th it does nothing.
