It would definitely be a bit lighter I think, but realistically- cast or not- that should not have happened. They cast engine blocks, crankshafts, suspension components, etc, that are subjected to far more stress than your shank would be. But, cast being cast, they tend to fracture before bending. Just looking, I would say there was a contaminant in that particular one and it was a fluke. A bad cast can happen. Thankfully it wasn't at highway speed

At any rate- glad they are taking care of you. I actually got the shorter shank with my Sway Pro and had to order the longer drop shank to level the trailer properly. Odd you got the longer one from the start.
