bed mounted winch for ATV?
I've tried to do some research but there isn't much. I have a quad, nothing huge or too heavy, it fits in my 5.5 ft box. Anyway, my truck is on 37s and by tomorrow will have a total of 11" lift in the back..I have ramps but its scary as hell driving that thing up. I don't want a trailer for it. I already have one in my yard for my jet skis. There isn't room to mount a winch on the ATV itself so I'd like to mount it in the bed..has anyone done it? It'd be in my 2005.

Pictures or it didn't happen. LOL. Never heard of this but don't see why it wouldn't work. Wouldn't it limit your room front to back though? I don't know how big that atv is but I can't imagine you've got a ton of room in a 5.5ft bed.

I saw a guy with what I would call an "interesting" setup that I was shocked at how well it worked. For power he used a long jumper cable obviously cut the clamps off the winch end. hard to describe but he mounted the winch with bolts to a heavy duty chain and had hooks on the two ends of the chain that he hooked into eye bolts he had mounted into the bed floor.
Not sure what your quad weighs but he pulled a complete skyline motor and tranny strapped down on a pallet into the bed of his truck with it.

I just googled "Bed Mounted Winch" then click on images and a bunch of ideas came up.
Personally I think i would mount the witch under the bed and have a way for the cable to come up into the bed.

Ya I'd probably lose like 10 inches..I'd just need a small one. Two people can pick the ATV up..but not lift it that high into the bed anymore. It fits with the tailgate down. The rear tire goes about 2 inches onto the tailgate

Could just use a come along to one of the corner tie downs in the bed from the front bumper bar on the atv.
What atv is that? I'd like one that fit in the 5.5ft bed.
