Best decision I've made with this truck! It's sad that I didn't have to spend $$$ on the 4 Link coil spring suspension on my '12 ram 1500 to make it work like it should. Ford needs to prevent this nonsense in the future by redesigning the leaf spring suspension that hasn't seen a significant design change since 1905... It's 2014! Wake up Ford!!
Hmm, tell us how you like the load assist monroes when towing. I like my RAS, but would like even more stiffness when loaded up.

Not sure what you mean about the Ram coil suspension. Do you like it or not? For a while I thought it was the reason for Ram's low payloads. But this year the RAM 2500 has coils as well, with 3000# payloads, so obviously it can be done. And I've heard they ride the best of 3/4 tons.

Hey Brulaz,

First thing, the coil rear suspension on the '09 and up Ram has 4 point track bars that locate the axle and completely prevent axle wrap. I love the ride in my '12 ram. It's as close as you can get to the ride comfort of 4 wheel independent suspension.

Now, on to the RAS and Monroe's,

When I towed my new camper the past few trips, I noticed a wallowy feel in the rear suspension. Coupled with the frustrating axle wrap I literally was fed up. The truck chassis has 290k on it but I figured someone had to have changed the shocks before now.....nope! The old ones were toast! I could compress them with my pinky! So a few weeks ago I ordered a set of the Monroe load assist shocks and I was impressed with the looks of the springs and impressed by how well built they are.

Then I ordered the RAS kit at a STEAL of a price.... $208 from Jackit.com
Once the kit came in, I started tearing into the project. I had heard about some RAS owners saying they noticed the lack of firmness which is why I was hoping that adding the load assist shocks would help keep it firmer than otherwise. I'll be towing my camper next weekend so I'll let you know how it feels. All ready I'm impressed with the feel even with no weight in the back!

There she sits next to my Ram. Notice the F150 now sits taller in the rear than the Ram even thought the ram is 4x4!

I'll be adding a set of new Monroe quick struts to the front soon to even out the suspension dips up front.

BTW, where in Ontario are you? I spent some of my childhood in Orangeville and Mono Centre.

About 2 hours North of Toronto near Bracebridge.

About the front end, I'm guessing the sensa-strut has the same stiffness / dampening as the originals? Think I would get heavier duty coils and shocks instead if towing a lot.

Pretty sure you can get the HD Payload coils direct from Ford, then add Bilstein Leveling shocks (5100?). Not cheap I imagine.

We have the same camper as you and I installed the RAS last week and we just got back from camping today. I'm not sure if I can tell a difference with the RAS compared to before I installed them. I used the white disk, not sure which one is the correct one for my application? I'm wondering also if we need to readjust these things after a couple weeks or days, have you heard anything about that? Thank you for your input, enjoy your new camper, I know we are..

Alright guys...just finished reading this from start to finish...I haven't been able to decide if what I am experiencing is the shudder...when I start to take off not at a high acceleration I experience a slight and tight vibration and when in traffic and slowing down I see the same thing. I can also feel it throughout different speeds. When going over rough roads i can def feel my front wheels hops(i know unrelated) and I can feel my rear wheels hop. I have a 2010 FX4 SCREW short bed. Brand new 17*9s with 315/70/17 and ranchos all the way around...guy before me put a 3in body lift and leveling spacers....that I plan to swap out for a 4in suspension(that with the taller spindles well cure my front wheel hop). As I don't have much experience in this axle wrap and wheel hop I guess I want to verify what was going on with my truck is related to what everyone is talking about.
