+1 on the shorter ramps. Just back up to something with a little rise to lesson angle if needed. In a city a curb will do.

It's nice to fold them and fit in the bed if a shortbox.

A pair of these and a couple pressure treated 2x10s cut to 6.5' (to fit in bed with gate up)

The key to loading a quad up ramps without them sliding out, is momentum
You don't approach slow then gas it half way up the ramp.
Get a straight approach, hit them with enough momentum to make it up without gassing it up the ramp

Don't be cheap. A 7' ramps is safer and you won't need to drive around looking for a hill to load or unload.

I used to have 6 foot non folding ones that I hated with a passion because I could never load a motorcycle in the back when I needed to. I went and bought a pair of these:

I enjoy these ones and I bought a hardened steel cable that I run through the ramps and my atv in the bed and lock to a tie down to discourage dishonest people.

You don't need a hill. I back my atv in with a plow on it once a week. Just don't be a sissy and grow a pair.

My atv wouldn't go in with a 6' ramp with my plow attached. Needed a 7' ramp. For the small $ diff it's worth it. Plus you can then load things like cycles. If you only need a poor mans six footer good fer ya.

Forward it won't make it up. I have to back it in. I like that I can lay the ramps flat in the bed with the gate closed.
