Default Backordered Mirrors

Just got off phone with etrailer & the c/s girl said early/mid-August shipping of the KSource mirrors. As of right now, they have 38 pending orders, and are to be shipped 125 units.

Mike... Sorry to hear they arrived in that condition. I ordered my **** mirrors for the '01 from 1AAuto and they were double-boxed, and arrived in perfect condition. I'm guessing that there wasn't any damage to the mirrors from KSource. Sorry meant etrailer....

Mirrors were Okay but I'll likely not go to Etrailer for another purchase.

I decided to buy my new Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch system from the RV dealer instead of Etrailer because of the very poor shipping.

And I even paid more for 2 day shipping from Etrailer and got this garbage.

Change the harnesses and bolt on and plug in the mirrors. They will have all the options that your 2016 has now.

The only thing is that they are expensive.
Why the new harnesses if the mirrors have the same functions as the ones that are being replaced? Just longer for the telescoping feature?

You may not need the harness. The Tow mirrors have a 22 pin connector. If you have that connector on your regular mirrors you are good to go.

If you only have the 8 pin connector on your mirrors now you need the harness.

Easy to check by "carefully" popping off the covers on the inside of your door covering the connections.

What determines if you have a 22 or 8 pin harness? Model / package option or is it more random?

Options really. The standard XLT mirrors ( power, signals, heat) are generally 8 pin. If you have the spot light option or puddle lights you will have the 22 pin connector.

Quick question here. I have a 2016 XLT Group 300A (read no options other than 3.5 ecoboost). My mirrors are very basic - power glass - nothing else. I do tow a small (3800lb dry weight) 5th wheel trailer and tow mirrors would be beneficial. If I decide to purchase the factory tow mirrors can I fabricate a jumper to adapt the 8 pin harness to the 22 pin harness on the tow mirror? I note on the schematics provided in the previous post that that may not work. For example pins 9,10,11 and 22 are for mirror position sensors. Would these be optional for the memory function? If the answer to my first question is yes, does anybody know a source for blank 8 and 22 pin connectors and pins and sockets?
As an interim measure I purchased the **** slip on tow mirrors and found the mirror to be way too small. They are marginal at best when driving and useless for backing up a trailer. If I decide against the factory mirror (cost) I may try the K-Source slip on mirror. They have about 25-30% more glass area.
Thanks

You can get Syppo tow mirrors with an 8-pin harness. See here:

I also tried the **** slip-ons and the Syppos are much better.
