Anderson WD hitch
#11
I am towing at the limit of my truck. I have a 24' enclosed that weighs in the neighborhood of 3500 pounds. When loaded, I am maxing out the tongue weight at 1000-1200 with my vehicle loaded toward the back of the trailer (winch, battery, cabinets & tools all in the nose.) I have something like 1790 available payload so it doesn't leave much room to spare.
I don't think the Andersen did a bad job but I did find the bracket slipped when I tried to snug it down enough to get enough transfer. There is lots of debate about how much transfer the No Sway hitch provides due to the angle, etc... I did a good bit of reading before buying. Welding the bracket in place would have likely helped with the bracket slip, and I did like the bushing for sway. I found the plate install/removal when dropping the trailer to be a bit cumbersome as the nuts had to be loosened on the chains to get the plate to drop, even with my electric tongue jack at full extension. This was probably my biggest gripe as it required tools just to drop my trailer. Ultimately, I wanted to try the Equal-i-zer and ended up happy with the end result. Unfortunately, I missed the return cut-off to return the Andersen and am now stuck with it as well.
I have encountered another issue that you won't have with the Andersen but experienced with the Equal-i-zer, the sway bar brackets hang pretty low to keep my trailer level. When pulling into Charlotte last month, the bracket smacked the ground, sheering a few bolts holding everything together.

I have used the Andersen No Sway hitch and highly recommend it for those who do not require a huge amount of weight distribution. Towing with an adequate tow vehicle, the hitch is quiet, clean, and lightweight. If you are using a WD hitch to unload an overloaded rear suspension, there are better choices. Big old steel bars can be sized to lift the rear tires off the ground. The Andersen will not do that.
