Default Aluminum or fiberglass travel trailer

I'm looking for opinions on travel trailers. I'm comparing fiberglass vs aluminum construction for the outside.

Any thoughts plus or minus would be appreciated.

It probably comes down to personal preference and price. My guess is that fiberglass is heavier and more costly. But, it looks so nice.

Our fiberglass trailer is 8 years old now and still looks great. We do store it inside so the sun fade is not an issue.

Do you mean wood frame with aluminum skin vs aluminum frame with fiberglass skin?

From my searches when it comes to equally equipped the aluminum frame trailer is lighter. This was important to me as I did not want to lug around extra weight. And I wanted the smooth fiberglass sides. I bought a cougar half ton and love it

I prefer the Fiberglas exterior, both for its appearance and ease in washing and waxing without the ribs.

An aluminum frame is superior to a wood frame by far.

I bought my camper 3 years ago and it was rite at 5000 lbs dry,I pulled it with my 02 f150 with a 4.2 .no speed demon but suitable for around e Tn. it has aluminum frame construction with fiberglass sides.Delamination is a reason my next 1 has aluminum siding on it. No leaks but heatis causing the problem and I reckon if it was stored under a canopy it wouldnt happen, My 2011 f150 pulls it with ease but at 28' my next will be in the 24' range .

My 5er is a 2000 Keystone Sprinter 25RK that is now about 16 years old.Fiberglass gell coat was an extra-cost option, an I like it.

My TT is a 2012 Sunline Nomad Joey 19.5S ultra-lite with aluminum rib siding. Nothing wrong with it yet, and I've put several thousand miles on it. I like it too.

If I buy another one, the exterior skin won't matter as much as price, weight, and floorplan.

I like my Alum frame with smooth sheet alum sides. '89 24' Hol Rambler. Been kept under cover on a trailer pad.
