MJWOOD I went through the same process with TT's. Almost bought the first apex (way to heavy ) after telling the sales guy I had an F150 with 5.0 3:31 gears. They said "No problem". Same story with another Jayco dealer that wanted to sell me an overweight TT, I hate those guys!..Anyway I am pulling the trigger on a Jayco jay feather 25bh. It has all the room we need & gross weight max 6700lbs, 5300 lbs dry. Also... I looked at & love the Winnebago Minnie models. I don't know how many people you will want to accommodate but the 2201DS Minnie was the best I have ever seen for 2 people, FULL walk around rear bathroom ,80x60 queen bed under 5000 lbs 26 feet long. Also the Minnie 2455 BHS was great but wife wanted a sofa & dinette, not just the u shaped dinette that the minnies have. I went with the Jayco 25bh for the extra room & bunks otherwise, if just for 2, it would have been that Minnie. I made an effort to not go over 6500lbs max Gross trailer weight. I would come at the salespeople with that info right away so no funny business & time wasted. When you know what your weight capacities are they get real about what they show you.
