Adjusting the WDH, Ford's way
Some folks have been wondering about Ford's recommended method for adjusting your WDH: "reduce front end lift by only 50%"
In particular that means do not add extra weight onto the front axle.
Just found a discussion about this recommendation, and especially the engineering behind it, on rv.net: http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...d/26767689.cfm
If you go down to the 10th post by JBarca and the one after and following ones by Ron Gratz, you will learn more than you want to know about why Ford makes this recommendation.
Ron Gratz is the engineer who has a sticky on rv.net about the physics of the WDH. Seems to know what he's talking about even if I don't understand him all the time.

Did I miss something. When I read the thread, I saw a discussion about F250's.

Guess Ford makes the same WDH recommendations for F150 and F250 and whatever. If you go down into the thread that Gratz refers to, you see that Equal-i-zer (the WDH manufacturer) has changed their recommendations based on those engineering studies too. So it doesn't really depend on the specific vehicle you have.
