Anyone have any recommendations on ones that work great and ones to avoid, etc. Truck is stock height, and worst case I'd level it and put slightly larger tires on it. Based upon that, I'd guess the most common up to 6" drop versions would be perfect.
Just an FYI but it is a 2 5/16 ball, not 2 5/8

I have a Trimax Razor that I kept from my 2014 Ram 2500 4X4. It's got way more drop than I need, but I like the quality and appearance. If I were to replace it, I'd get a Weigh Safe.

B&W all the way. Easy and shin friendly. Comes in many different height range adjustments and ball configurations (1-3).

Mine is adjustable down 3.5" and up 4 from the center of the receiver.

I guess if 5" of drop is enough... anyone disagree with this? I don't plan to get a lift, but may get tires that are ~1" taller.
Then perhaps this is all around a great hitch:
B&W TS10048B and it's cheaper than many of the other B&W ones at $199. But what about security since it uses cotter pins vs locks to hold the hitch on to the adjustable part...

I wonder how their chrome version holds up... it's about the same price.

Though for $40 more maybe the TS10049B is better as it'll be future proof if I get a SD in the future.

Replace one or more of the hitch pins that use a cotter key with a locking hitch pin? Like this one.

AS long as the B&W is locked in the receiver 1st hole The adjustable part can not be removed. I suppose a thief could steal the pins but why?

I'm trying to envision that. Can you explain a bit further or have a picture that shows that? Would that be true with it facing either direction?

To remove the adjustable piece you have to slide it up to where the pin s welded or cast in the piece can fit through the cut out's near the top of the groove cut in the vertical slide and this can't be done when it is locked in the receiver also the grooves do not go all the way to the bottom so it wont come off when lowered.

Thanks! Is the 7" drop too much for a stock 150? Anyone have any pictures with this mounted? I'm likely going to buy one of the B&Hs, just trying to decide between the 5" and 7" drop versions.

Search E Trailer.com they ave many pics and videos and on line chat to answer ? FYI I bought the 7" drop for my stock 4x2 and it was more than I will ever need and I will probably have to modify it For my 4x2 as it hangs pretty close to the ground the 4 or 5" would have suited my needs. I do have the tools and welder to change mine but if I had to do it over I would have gotten the shorter one
