To the crossmember above the spare tire. It looks like a couple of other wires come out of that bundle for other things, but I didn't follow it back towards the cab to see. At that point it's way past worth $$ or time. It really sounds like most trucks got all 6 wires, but some of us were lucky enough to only get 3.... Yay me!!!!

If anyone who's done the retrofit has that pocket where the TBC goes, I apparently didn't keep mine and I'd sure like to get one. PM me.
Thanks!

so ..by the sound of this post...your truck didn't have the extra wiring.....that truly sucks...for the price of the wiring for to just have the main harnesses done...for the owner that wants to add.....are you listening ford....

Consider modifying the trucks harness?
I just went through this exercise with my 2012 F150. I was lucky in that my non-max towing F-150 did in fact have all six wires (the seventh is tied to chassis ground at the rear connector above the frame).
You spent all the money already why not just run three wires up to the connector at the driver's side wheel well and tap into the harness at that point?
I believe all F150s have the exact same harness in the engine compartment right up to the driver side connector. There are other pictures etc on the internet that will show you exactly where the connector is located. It is easily visible on top of the drivers side wheel well.
Good luck!

Yes I beleive someone at some point did a write up for which wires you need to run. I believe you need to run 2 wires at least. (Blue and Orange maybe a 12V- too) Blue is Brake, Orange is 12V battery charge and of course a ground.
Even an afteramrket TBC won't work without those extra wires added.

Somewhere, above the gas tank I think, is where the bed harness plugs into the main harness. You need the 7 pin bed harness if you want to keep the Ford ITBC. The main harness has all the wires, since its used in all builds. I went through this in 2011 with an Expedition. Just remember you don't have the bigger radiator or the aux trans cooler either, so be vigilant.

Once its been flashed, the PCM will recognize the TBC . His problem is not having the proper harness with all the wiring to the rear.

OP, all you have to do is splice a few wires together and you can keep your factory TBC. I'm in the same boat, I have 4 wires coming out of my harness (including the ground). Check this how to thread out about it. Not difficult at all! http://www.f150online.com/forums/ele...formation.html

Assuming you have done everything else, like fuses, the TBC, etc.. Find the Orange & Blue wires in the harness by the brake booster & master cylinder. Cut them and add the new wires running to the back, be sure you enclose them in split loom or something.
And terminate those wires into the pigatil that goes to your 4/7 plug
I used a bracket and 4/7 plug for an F250, it was what Tasca suggested. Used a Dremel to cut off the 4-pin tab and bolted the bracket to the bumper though the existing hole, big fender washers on each side.
And clearanced the bumper plastic for the 4/7 plug with the dremel.
I used parts that I got from Tasca, here's the numbers
TBC - BL3Z-19H332-AA
Pigtail harness - BL3Z-13A576-B
F250 Bracket and 4/7 Plugs - 9C3Z14489A
