Default Add TPMS sensors?

This may be a really dumb question - I'm not even sure where to put it - but here goes.

My 2014 F-150 has a TPMS system, of course, with 5 sensors (four on the ground plus the spare tire). Can I buy additional sensors and install them on my trailer tires? Note that I am not talking about replacing the existing sensors but keeping the total number at five. I am talking about adding more sensors to the system, bringing the total number to seven, and hoping that the TPMS system will recognize and play nicely with seven sensors.

Thanks for thinking about it. I almost got an answer here, but not quite.

First of all - you don't have a tire pressure sensor in your spare. The TPMS can only monitor 4 tire pressure sensors - the ones in your main 4 wheels.

Second of all - No, you can't simply add tire pressure sensors to your trailer wheels and have the truck's TPMS monitor them. As mentioned above, it can only monitor 4 sensors.

I use this Orange Electronics TPMS for my trailer:

There are a number of aftermarket TPMS kits available, but I got one like above to monitor the tire pressures of my trailer tires.

As you can see above, the Orange Electronics TPMS display shows the pressure and the temperature of my 4 trailer tires. I REALLY like knowing how things are going back there.

Reviving an old thread. I found an ad by Ford that indicates that a TPMS signal from the trailer tires can display on the instrument panel. Then it says go to Ford etc.

My truck is a 2018 with the trailer package etc.

Anyone found TPMS sensors that can be added to the trailer tires and that will show up on the truck panel without having a separate display for the sensors?

Thanks. I later found similar info but it showed an even higher price.

Don't have the 360* camera so it's not an option for me. Fortunately the stand alone alternatives are less.

Hi Everybody, I'm new to the F150Forum. I have a 2018 F150, Extended cab, 2.7 Ecoboost, without 360 camera. For Ford to put the 360 camera as an add-on for all F150 models is on my wish list. I seriously don't know why Ford didn't make this option available on other "lesser" models. I have a towable RV and was really hoping to add and monitor the TPMS for the RV tires on the truck screen. Since the answer is no way, then my research has lead me to go with the Pressure Pro Pulse FX system which uses Bluetooth and a cell phone app to display the monitoring. This brilliant design eliminates having yet another monitoring device for the RV. I'm also researching if it is possible to add a Pulse FX sensor to the truck spare tire. I know the Pulse FX system will monitor the truck spare, I just don't know if adding an extra sensor would mess with the built-in sensor already present on the spare tire once the spare is installed and monitored by the truck. The solution might be to just disable that particular sensor using the Pulse FX app or remove the sensor from the wheel. For peace of mind I hope I can add it to the truck spare. Anybody have any thoughts about doing this? If it would mess with the already installed sensor once mounted? I appreciate your thoughts.

Anything is possible. TPMS for trailer tires might require additional computer systems. It can't be that hard.

Is there absolute research that reports a spare doesn't have TPMS?

Research TireMinder. There may be other suppliers that offer same solution.

This is for the SuperDuty trucks. Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (874) is only an option on F250 and up. Go to Amazon, there are hundreds of options for trailer TPMS, but they all will require the cab remote to display, unfortunately there isn't an option to tap into the trucks systems for the F-150. Simple install too, just replace the valve stem cap, don't even need to remove a wheel.
