(just got a 1,500lb tongue weight 10k pound tow weight , with a ball hitch that will match that.

Looking to order the suspension sometime within the next week just have to figure out all the parts i need.

Also would Disc breaks be more suitable for stopping power ? or will the drums work just as well ?
The bags will work. 1500 pounds is a lot of tongue weight!!! And yes disc brakes have more stopping power but the front of your truck should already have discs. It would probably e pricey to do the swap.

Price Vs proper for me. if its a very small diff then no i cant justify it , now if its a large increse then Proper> price.

This almost has me thinking about doing a full 4.6 or 5.4 swap ( yes i know i cant get off cheaper by selling and buying a 4.6 or 5.4 , but then i wouldnt have the fun or satisfaction of knowing any and everything with the truck) but i dont think im at that point yet.

Air bags are proper. So are add a leafs. It's just whichever route you want to go. Swapping in a new motor would be a lot if work... But if you're up to it by all means go ahead

alrdy in the process of removing the full interior to convert it to power and Grey rather than a tan interior. might put the dash install on pause and figure if i want to do a motor swap or not ( alrdy have the other truck pulled apart it wasnt as bad as everyone said , first time doing an interior the pull apart took about 2 hours granted i was making sure everything had its place and im sure an install will take me a little longer.

all i would need with the new internals would be the cluster/and ECU right ? or is it a whole new wiring harness as well ?

I not sure on that one! I've never done a motor swap like that. Can't see you needing a whole new harness but ecu would be a must. Probably different motor mounts, and maybe a new bellhouse to bolt the new motor up to your transmission. Maybe they are the same but maybe you'll have to buy an adapter plate

I'm fairly sure I would need a new trans if I went that route a 4.6 or a 5.4 would shred the lil 4.2 trans expecialy towing.

Gonna see what I can do with the 6 cyl for now.

I think it might be the same trans... Maybe I'm wrong but I think it is. A gear swap will help your 4.2 a lot.
