Default 3 inch lift with airbags

Hey guys, I am wanting to lift my 2013 Ecoboost Screw 3" and also tow with it. If/when I get it lifted do I need blocks in the back if I'm putting airbags on it? Sorry if this seems like an obvious answer but I have no idea.

Lifting and towing are generally not a good combination.

I spoke with a shop and they said I wouldn't need the blocks in the back if I was going to install bags and that the bags could raise my back end to match the height I needed.

You could do an add a leaf and that lifts the rear an inch or two plus adds about 500lbs of payload.

I wouldn't use bags to adjust ride height in that situation. You will need the bags pretty full to get the ride height anywhere near 3" and that is going to make for a pretty rough ride.

They are designed to operate within the stock range of axel travel, if you lift it you would have to add the same lift height to the bag assembly so that it stays within operating range. If a bag is overextended ie. jacking the truck by the frame, the bag could rip.

so should I add blocks and airbags in the back or should I add leaf spring and blocks. I hope that you'd say airbags and blocks that way it isn't as stiff of a ride.

The way to soften the ride with air bags is to add weight in the rear and I would only do the air bags if you are towing a lot cause even when your not towing you still need to keep air in them. AAL and blocks are the best way to go for the cheap route but if you have a 1300 bucks to spend then get a full set of leafs custom ordered to your truck.
