Not sure who told you that but it is incorrect.
My 2015 has the heavy duty payload pkg.

On-line 'Chat' with Ford 'Build your own'.

I asked about the option for the Heavy Duty Payload Package, and Bruce said. '...This package has been deleted from the 2015 model and pushed back to the 2016."

He also told me the 2015 F150 and Super Duty models are no longer in production. The 2016 Super Duty is now in production, however the F150 is still TBD.

Well, this Canadian dealer is selling a 2015 SCrew 5L with HD Payload package.

Pretty pricey, but all 2015s are a bit expensive right now.

Also, seems a little early to stop 2015 production and switch to 2016?

I guess my concern for staying within published limits of equipment comes from my long career of not being able to exceed published weight limits of my equipment by an ounce. I had to meet many, many limiting requirements, and couldn't exceed any of them.

My concern with a way overweight F150 is that I may be out there on the highway with it. I think the best way on the forum to help avoid too many of those dangerous vehicles on the highways is to tell fellow forum members what they can really pull without overloading their truck.

Many owners think that just because the "sales brochures" or "salesmen" tell them they have a Max Tow truck with an 11,500 lb rated hitch, that they can hook up an 11,500 lb trailer with no problem.

If we tell them what will really keep the truck within published limits, then if they want to push the limits, at least they'll know that they are going beyond what the rated limits are instead of just being totally ignorant about it.

.
Well said. Exactly why I traded my F-150 for and F-250 super duty. I know I was likely exceeding the F-150's GVWR with my camper. No worries now. If people are worried about overloading an F-150 with a heavy trailer, then an F-150, or any other half-ton truck, isn't for them. A better and SAFER towing experience will be with a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. With the prices of new F-150's on the rise, the price of new super duty isn't really that much more, and about the same if you go with a gasser.

Agreed, my price for the build of a 2015 F-150 XLT (w/HDPP & MTTP) vs 2015 F-250 XLT was less than $150.00, however, with the F-150 I was able to include the Navigation unit and will get better MPG (when not towing) and a couple other cool items not offered with the F250 (110v/400w Inverter Outlet, LED Side Mirror Spotlights...).

Granted I don't have actual weight numbers because I don't own either unit, but from everything everyone has shared, I believe (as long as we don't max either (especially both) units out, we're going to be under all max ratings and still have (a bit of) room to spare...

Worse case scenario, if the truck comes in heavier than anticipated and all the numbers go out the window, we'll look at a different RV...

You won't get anywhere near the unloaded mpg of an F150 with the 6.2L gas F250.

The prices will drop on the F150s as the year goes on and the 2016's come closer. Right now there's not as big a discount on 2015 F150s as there is on a 2015 F250 as they haven't been available as long. And four months ago you could get much better discounts on the 2014 F150s. Timing your purchase right can save you thousands, if you can wait.

Last year I purchased a fifth wheel with a GVW of 10,560lbs. I bought a 2014 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with max tow & heavy payload. It came with 3.73 gears. This combination tows beautifully. I can pull that trailer up a 10% grade at 60mph. I got 9.6 MPG (US) on a 3000 mile trip to California. I do find that the 3.73 gears cut into the fuel economy on the highways unloaded, especially at 65-75 MPH. This truck gets better fuel economy at 40 or 50 MPH.
I have added propane that right now costs me $1.49/gal (US). Mileage is 10% worse on propane, power is basically the same. I love this set-up. My wife thinks it's too big...
