The build site says 2760 lbs payload for a 4x4 163" EB before options (and I believe that INCLUDES skinny driver) Where do you get the 6000 lb weight from?? The LOADED screw that MT tested weighed 5500 lbs, which will be on the high end.

If I can only get to 1850 payload with the HD option etc, I might be pushed into a bigger truck.
Thanks
You will have plenty of room. Even non-hd trucks have a lot of payload. The 4x4 scab lariat that MT tested was under 5000 lbs. You would have close to 1800 lbs payload EVEN with the bigger engine and a heavier driver. Again, that was a lariat 4x4.

My understanding is that the 2015 HD Payloads will not be coming out for quite some time. Maybe not until next summer?

The option is always marked as "late availability"

This is getting ineresting, I looked at a 2500HD Duramax (forgive me) and the payload expert was shocked to discover that a crew cab 6 and 1/2 foot bed can only carry 2360lbs!

He didn't believe it until looking at the load placard.

The F150 HD capabilities are awesome if it comes in at 2000 or more lbs of payload.

After all this research, I would not be surprised to find out that many people are driving overloaded combinations of truck/trailer.

Heh, you see a diesel F250 or 2500 with a heavy 5er behind it, and it's probably overloaded. But these same people will accuse F150 owners of being overloaded without even considering the HD payload option.

My dad's Chevy 2500HD crew cab with 6.5 ft bed has a 2900# payload. I'm sure the diesel engine adds a lot of weight compared to the gas engine.

I couldn't find any payload info on the Ford build&price site. You can get close to the weight of the truck by subtracting the tow rating from the GCWR. 17,100 minus 11,100 = 6,000 pounds truck weight, including 150-pound driver.

You think that's bad, look at our very own Ford F250's. You get a F250 4x4 SCREW with PSD drivetrain and higher end option package (XLT+) and that sucker will have 2200lbs payload!?!

Max Payload on the 163" wheel base is listed at 2,760lbs! I don't think an optioned up Lariat would have more than 500lbs of goodies added, many options are not available on the long bed.

Anyone own or know what the current HD model payload placard says?
I am not sure when I would get the truck if I order one now.

The lariat 4x4 that MT tested was only 100 lbs more than that! So a 2060 lb payload before driver, 1860 lb with driver. Remember this is a NON-HD truck!!
