Goodness, I'm awaiting the arrival of my '16 Lariat 3.5 EB truck. I tow about 2000km a year, and the new truck has 3.31 gears. My '13 EB with 3.73 gears tows my trailer very, very nicely. I hope I'm not setting myself up for disappointment!

The things that can most affect your towing experience will be weight of the trailer and the steepness of the terrain you are towing on. The 3.5 EB has plenty of muscle behind it to accomplish most towing but with the lesser mechanical advantage of the 3.31 gears, it will just have to work a little harder starting out from a stop and maintaining speed on steeper climbs. think of it as having a strong man moving a rock, he can move it with the smaller lever with a little more effort involved than if he had a longer lever
