2008 XLT Towing Questions
Specs:
2008 XLT
5.4L Gas
Super-Crew Cab
6.5ft Bed
4x4
Unk Gearing
We will be moving from Anchorage AK to Las Vegas NV (hopefully). I have seen tow ratings ranging from 8200-9500 lbs. We will be towing a 2012 GMC Yukon SLE on a C&B 18' car hauler rated at 2,030 lbs. The Yukon weighs around 5-6k if I remember correctly.
Question is, will my truck struggle to pull that much weight since it is pushing the maximum tow weight? We will be pulling it 3,000+ miles. Thanks for any help.

Pull it fairly easily. Good aerodynamics will help. How packed will truck and or SUV be?

It will have a full tank of gas in case something happens to my truck then we can use my wife's to tow. Other than that, it will be empty. My truck will have (in the bed) a few spare tires, gas cans, air compressor, etc.)

No worries then. Some folks pack truck bed and towed vehicle with thousands of lbs of stuff. Most you will be is 8k lbs but it's an easy pull v. An enclosed trailer.

You won't be going fast... Make sure to bring a spare tire for the trailer also. I'd do a test drive to cooper landing and back, running the Pass will give you a good idea on how it'll do.
