Can you back it on the trailer or will the rear bumper possibly hit your truck? That could lessen the hitch weight, but you have to watch the clearance between the towing vehicle and the truck on the trailer.
Also you do want to have at a bare minimum of 8% on the tongue. 10-15% is suggested, but 8% is the bare minimum I've found. Any less and you start to bounce and sway a lot more from being tail heavy. More than 18% and you put undue pressure on your axles. The suggestion of finding a certified CAT scale is a good one. Minimal charge for knowing exactly what your weights are.
