just to compare...2016 5.0l xtr/xlt.. I have 1740 lbs..as most may tell you this is your limiting factor....any accessories/family/gear in/on the truck is taken off the payload.. your truck and gearing will likely do it no problems....legally not likely ....

Yeah, we will most likely pass on it then. Thank you

Dcumagat - you said you do NOT have a tow pkg. The OEM receiver was standard on your Lariat, but if you have 7-pin trailer plug, and the auxiliary tranny cooler, then you probably have at least the regular tow package. Since you also have the ITBC, you may even have the max tow pk. Those are the items I suggested you add before you tow that trailer. If your F-150 does not include a towing package on the window sticker, then someone has already added all the components of the trailer towing package, plus the ITBC.

When checking the owners manual on page 268, it indicates your max GCWR is 13,300 pounds when properly equipped. Best way to gauge what you can tow is to load up the truck with everything and everyone you'll be hauling and have it weighed. Subtract that from 13,300 and you'll have the max trailer weight you can tow (again when properly equipped).

I bought the car brand new, so someone could not have added these components. On the window sticker there was no mention of any tow package. You're right though that all Lariat's come with a class IV hitch and the 7/4 wire harness. Maybe they built mine sort of like a tow package because it looks like I have the transmission cooler and the integrated brake controller. Or maybe they just added it because of the 3.73 rear end.

I guess my question is since I seem to have most of the components of a max tow package is it safe to assume I can tow over 5000lbs?

Assuming you have the auxiliary tranny cooler, then it's perfectly safe to tow any trailer that doesn't have hitch weight that causes you to exceed the GVWR (and payload capacity) of your F-150.

With your Lariat dash display in "gauges" mode, you should see the digital tranny temp gauge. Normal is 200° to 210° when towing. If it gets over 220°, then watch that gauge like a hawk and don't let it go much over 225°. I've never seen over 220° on mine and I've towed heavy for tens of thousands of miles.
