Trade trucks with your dad for the day or try your F150. The way I look at it is that Ford put a 1050# hitch on your truck from the factory. If Ford didn't the F150 couldn't haul that weight, they'd have changed the numbers on that hitch.

You probably will be a bit over your max payload rating.

This is a 9k GN hooked up to my 2013, it is right at max GVWR and GAWR. It tows the load no problem at all, we usually are right at 8k, but had 3 horses aboard today. As you can see the slant load stalls keep almost all the horse weight on the tandems.

Yep we tow the trailer all over Ohio, Ky,In,WV and PA every weekend 9 to 10 months a year. My kids show AQHA and big open horse shows, so it gets a work out.
