08 5.4 3.73 gears 4x4 towing help
I am trying to figure out what the max safest weight i should pull with my truck. My wife is wanting to get a travel trailer.
My crewcut shows max GCWR at 14500 (with 20" wheels) and max trailer at 8800 lbs.
My concern on how to calculate a safe max weight is that my truck is lifted 6" with 35" tires and 22" wheels. This setup is quite a bit heavier than factory 20s and tires.
Any thoughts on how to figure this one up?
I found a trailer we like with a dry weight of 5900 but i feel it will be to heavy once you add my wife, son and i along with cargo and the added weight of wheels and tires.
