Default Profile picture not changing?

I tried changing my profile picture a while back but it never changed. Whenever I try to go change it, it appears that my desired one is already my profile picture, but it's not when on the normal forum.

Profile picture and avatar are two different pictures. Both have different size requirements as well. The photo by your name in posts is your avatar. The profile photo is the one users see after clicking your avatar.

Profile picture and avatar are two different pictures. Both have different size requirements as well. The photo by your name in posts is your avatar or selecting public profile from your user name menu.

I am in no way trying to offend or belittle you, this is something you should really consider buying. It will answer the most basic questions such as the one you posted here.
