Default My 2013 FX4 build

This won't be super impressive compared to some of the stuff on here but I love looking at all the pics in everyone's threads and seeing what can be done.

I never had a truck before as it isn't that practical in the city, however, I've wanted to get a tent trailer for camping and be able to move stuff around once in a while without borrowing vehicles.

I used to walk by an FX4 daily during my break at work for nearly 6 months then I knew I needed to have one. I started looking back in May 2016 for a truck locally in the Lower Mainland BC area. I was pretty much only looking at dealers because I needed initial financing.

I was going to buy a 2011 at a dealer, the ads said it had 65k km's and it was a great price, so I rushed down there expecting to buy it, turns out it had 130k km's. Bait and switch trick.

Anyways, kept looking and expanded my search to Alberta. The prices in Alberta were a few thousand less, I suspect due to the state of the economy and the fact there are many more trucks on the road then where I am.

I Ending up flying into Edmonton and buying a 2013 FX4 ecoboost sight unseen just based off the salesman's word and pictures. Probably was 4 or 5 grand less than here. Couldn't be happier when I got it and the 2 day drive home was awesome.

I've done a number of minor upgrades so far so I will post a bunch of pictures and what I think of some of the stuff.

Thanks for looking.

Here it is on the lot

The first upgrade was removing the dealer stickers and adding stickers of my 2 favorite teams - Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Seahawks

Next I did the K&N intake, also added a filterwears pre filter on it. It was only 15 bucks where as the K&N pre filter is 35. Auto anything had 20% off K&N plus a $25 mail in rebate so I went with K&N over some of the other brands which were over $300. Was pretty much done for the sound which I am liking.

Next accessory that went on was this lower grille - got it off ebay for about $75. Nice touch and covers the open space in front of the intercooler.

The next thing I put on was the MBRP 4 inch cat back.

After a few days with it on, I realized it was way too loud for me. Then I ordered the MBRP 3 inch 'EcoSleeper' from stage 3 motorsports.

I sold the 4 inch one to someone, and took my stock to the metal recycler.

I had the 3 inch on for about a week and it was still way to loud. I loved the sound when flooring it, however, just driving around calmly in the city and it was constantly humming, was giving me a headache. I wasn't really sure what to do so I contacted the guy who I sold the 4 inch too and luckily he still had his stock and gave it to me for free. Currently trying to sell the 3 inch. I'm happy now with the quiet sound.

Also took of the dealer mudflap plate and replaced it with the FX4 plate. It was hard to find the 2012-2014 FX4 mudflap plate logo but I was lucky.
