Default ToppDog's 2012 FX4 Supercrew Build

Bought this truck new & am finally getting around to fixing it up some more...

When I first bought it, the first mod I did was to get rid of the side bumper license bracket & put one on the center of the bumper instead...

Tomorrow it's getting a 2.5 inch level done, & I've ordered new headlights & a matching lower grill insert. Still working on figuring out wheel & tire combos that would be best. I keep reading that 35's will work fine on stock wheels with no rubbing, so I may replace the current wheels for the stock black ones (or paint them, etc.) & go for some Toyo Open Country M/Ts or R/Ts (the R/Ts are supposed to be better for freeway driving, which I will still be doing a lot of).

2.5 level done...

Going to check into getting the wheels sandblasted & powdercoated in black, & then new wheels. Still waiting on new headlights & lower grill insert.

New tires on today (35 x 12.5 r20's)...

Still waiting on the other parts I ordered before I can finish the lights, etc. An idea I had a long time ago was to put the switches from a Raptor into my FX4 to use with aftermarket lights, like this one...

New KC light bar, lower grill insert, & pieced together license plate bracket...

Hella lights on the bar, & new headlights are next. Still experimenting with optimal sites for CB/Ham Radio & antenna mounts.

New headlights & Hella lights on light bar...

I like the headlights, but I'm not so sure about the smokey cover. I may swap them out with the clear ones. I didn't buy the clear ones because they came with a chrome backing, & I prefer the black ones, but the covers seem identical, so I may be able to use the clear covers from the stock headlights...

I may try having my own roof mount light bar made. It will have the large Hella lights on it. The design below is for a 5 ft long 2.5 inch tube bar, with the light tabs centered & spaced every 10 inches apart, with antennas & rear lights attached...

Just have to find a good shop that can do the work...

Very nice looking 2012 FX4.
I had the 3.5 Eco & 3:73's.
I never had a Hemi, Chevy or 4 Series B.M.W. take me off the line. Did get beat by a Lexus.
I wish I still had it. Hail beat it to death. Yours looks Great.
