Great thread Tackle!! I just found it last night, and love what you've done. My truck is also '02, but Supercrew, two wheel drive, 3.55 locking differential. I only have 93,500 miles on it now, and here, not much of a rust problem. Plus, it was garage kept by original owner, I'm second owner.

I'm wanting to do many of the things you've done, just basic maintenance, I love when y'all boys mod, but I don't have lucres to do mods on mine. Except a few basic things. I've been worried to death about changing my plugs, but got to do it sometime. Hmmm, I also probably need to have brake fluid flushed I reckon? Wha' you think about full transmission flush? I'd have dealer do that since they have equipment and it's about $140.00 at me dealer, who I happen to like. I had coolant flushed there last year. I like keeping my truck in good shape like you are doing. Yours looks great!!

Oh yeah, to the young'un who mentioned cops (police, not plug thingamajig) like to also pull us geezers over! Just got warning last week for doing 70 in 55 mile zone. The old boy was lenient with me... Need to get one of them radar detectors too. Oh, and I REALLY LIKE a real oil/temperature gauge. I read that even though our gauges look real, they're just needles instead of the idiot lights. I want to see where my real oil pressure is.

No worries on the plugs. They aren't that bad. Get some knee pads or put a pillow up on the fan and kneel there to do most of them.

Brake flush is needed once the fluid is black. I did suck some from the reservoir and replaced it but it was still black shortly after. Took it in and had them do it with their machine. I haven't got the desire to mess around with trying to get all the air out. Well worth the cost.

Whatever the dealer recommends for the trans is fine. Pan drop, exchange or flush are all better than not doing anything. At 93k it's probably time if it's getting brown.

What blows me away is the guys that spent oodles of money on mods for their truck but neglect the basic maintenance. At least it'll make for a fancy lawn ornament when it doesn't drive! I still have a few things I'd like to do this spring.

You got lucky with a warning! You in a rush to get home for a potty break or what?!?!

Right about the mods but neglecting good maintenance. Heheheeee, yeah, the warning ticket was on interstate through city, big nice three lanes on my side, and I really didn't know speed limit was 55 there! I simply told him that, and he was a nice guy. Or as we say down here, a good old boy.

I've got to get my plugs done, I've just been wanting to at my mileage. Transmission fluid is clean and pink, but will still have them flush it. Then want to put new shocks soon too, all four.

Had enough of the Firestone's. Sold them and put on LT265/7516 Cooper Discover AT3's. More meat, stiffer sidewall and they look "cooler". Very pleased with my purchase.

Did you notice any MPG differences with that edge? If it was covered, I didn't see it.

No change in mileage with the Edge or the Superchips.
I check my MPG religiously every time I fill up.

I want an icon for a self kicking machine! I have not - have not - yet bought radar thingamajig. Nooooo, not old smarty pants me, noooo, I just got a ticket for 72 in 55 zone, using me cruise control. $171 cold solid lucres that one set me back! I'll be a suckeggedmule, I could've bought one for about that one ticket! Oh well, changed fuel filter today, trying to get PCV hose off back to put new valve and hose on...

Tackle, I'm going to print out ye log too! Maybe I'll remember to do some of these things!
