Got it installed after some trimming of the black bezel inside the dash, and the install kit I got for a newer truck.

Got another question for ya. I always wanted to get a double din, however i had second thoughts about the installation itself. I know that i have to trim the plastic piece behind the stereo unit in order for the new one to fit, but, how would i secure it in place? I don't think that you can use factory mounting brackets.

Also, once you have it wired, secured and installed with the trim piece is it still possible to take it out? (If i ever want to hook up an external amp for example)

Man, if you could do a write up on that I'd thank you a million times, i know that there is few on the web but it's still not as clear.

I just trimmed the hole in the dash for it to hold it snuggly. The face plate is just to dress it up some. If you want to remove it and work on it or whatever all you have to do is just get your hand behind it and slip it out.

Browning how can I rig up a piece to go under my single din in that gap to hold my toggle switches? I think I want to do it when I wire my led bar this week.

That's the problem, if i ever were in an accident (knock knock on the wood) i wouldn't want the stereo flying out.

I don't see why not.

Oh it definitely won't do that. The faceplate holds it in. It takes some force to get it to move

You have any ideas on what to use as a plate?

Not really. Some plastic f you've got any. I'd lay it over, cut to fit, screw it to the cubby, and put in the switch holes

Ok thanks! That faceplate you're talking about is it just the plastic trim around the radio? And also, what comes in the box with that install kit?
