Default Well Crap

Well was going to get tint done this week. Went the place that did my tint on my last truck, they got bought out by another company, and turns out no longer do tint. Since they WERE the only place on our stupid island that did it I'm kind of SOL right now. I'm debating on if there is any other reason I need to put my truck on the ferry/barge and take it to Juneau other than tint...have a hard time paying almost 1k all said and done just to go get my windows tinted. But I guess if the owner of the companies decides to come down to check on his new store this summer, I can have him bring the stuff and do my windows while he's here..but I guess he hates coming here...so

So thought I would post a few things that I will one day be adding to the truck.

Sound System Upgrade:

Cold Air Intake..Worth it?

Cover for CAI because I hear they are loud..
http://www.stage3motorsports.com/54-...ake-Cover.html

Exhaust..has a good mild sound to it.

What do you use to edit your pictures? They look great.

I bought the truck with 19 miles on it, test drove it with 3.6 miles on it. This is my first Brand New truck, and I'm loving it.

Now just so it's clear, this build it going to be very slow, as I am also currently saving up for a vacation/wedding in Hawaii. I'm not changing a whole lot on this truck, just changing things to fit my taste. Adding things, going toward a 'classy' build style with this one. Modeling it after an FX4.

Some might ask why I didn't just buy an FX4, the answer is simple I do not like the MFT. My fiance has it in her Explorer, and her father has it in his Flex, and while I don't have any major issues with it, I hate that you can't turn off the screen. I like the radio setup for the STX more.

Plans:
Exterior:
  1. Tint the windows. (30% all round for legal reasons)
  2. Piano black 'B' pillar covers
  3. Add heated mirrors with turn signals
  4. Paint to match door handles, tailgate handle, and mirror caps
  5. Undercoat bottom of truck
  6. Install wheel well liners
  7. Change out head/tail lights for the FX4/Harley style
  8. Tonneau cover (bakflip) and/or bed cap (PTM)
  9. Chrome exhaust tip
  10. PTM the inlay on the F-150 badges
Interior:
  1. Kicker SoundGate Power Stage PF150C11
  2. Husky Liners X-act Contour Floor Liners
  3. LED swap (white light output)
  4. XLT center console
  5. Seat Covers (Clazzio w/heat) *Still debating this one*
  6. Might add some sound mat to stiffen the door metal and roof
Now for some pictures!

Her at the dealership (two days before I took her home)

Picking her up!

First night home

And the most recent, after her first bath (Yesterday)

And some interior shots

Again, this will be a slow build. Hoping to get tint within the next couple of months.
Beautiful truck. Only one thing I would change about your build though and that is the undercoating. All they do is help attract and hold contaminants. I grew up 10 minutes from the gulf, where everything rusts. The car that didn't was mine (with no undercoating). I lived in Hawaii for 4 years and not a bit of rust on the car I bought there (still have - 07 Mazda 3) and it still doesn't have any rust. No undercoating, but do have electronic rust inhibitor on it. Those are the best. If you aren't familiar with them they work the same as the ones they use on floodgates, bridges, ocean going ships, etc. It puts 2-4 anodes (sacrificial metal plates) around the frame of your car and puts a small electrical charge to your frame. This is nothing enough to feel, or hurt anyone or anything. This charge goes to the plates and causes them to corrode instead of your vehicle. They are very inexpensive and much better for your vehicle.

Any links about it? Sounds neat! I'm not certain about undercoating just read that's something to do to prevent rust but I guess not. Thanks!

Here is just one site

http://www.erps.com.au/about-us.html

but do a search for electronic rust protection and you will find more. It does run a bit, but you don't have to reapply it every year or so for maintained performance and, like I said earlier, it doesn't actually attract and hold contaminants that cause rust like traditional spray/paint on protection does either. My car and van still don't have a lick of rust and both have been in very salty environments.
