For your running boards:
Grip tape that goes on skateboards for the top. Plastidip for the chrome. I promise the grip tape works.

So on the install of the new mirrors was it just a plug and play installation? Because I know the stx trucks don't have turn signals in the mirrors but do the ones on the new mirrors work?

Yeah it was a simple plug and play swap. Even for heat. I'm thinking that the screw f150s share the wiring harness with the XLT. I have plugs that don't go to anything but that I think are for options the stx don't even have.

Just be aware that I'm not 100% sure that's just a guess since there is a lot of extra wires

Nevermind went back and looked through the thread again and saw that you changed out the hvac controls...

All I really need is the adjustment and signal to work. The mirrors come with the extra wiring for power fold so I think I should be good.

Really like this color, almost bought my '14 STX in it as well. Ended up going with the blue flame. Nice truck man, good luck with your build.
