Slow Sunset 'build'

Just got a 2014 F-150 STX SuperCrew in Sunset Metallic. The truck has the 5.0, 4x4, Select Shift Transmission, 3.73 Locking rear diff, remote start, and Toughbed Spray-in liner.

I bought the truck with 19 miles on it, test drove it with 3.6 miles on it. This is my first Brand New truck, and I'm loving it.

Now just so it's clear, this build it going to be very slow, as I am also currently saving up for a vacation/wedding in Hawaii. I'm not changing a whole lot on this truck, just changing things to fit my taste. Adding things, going toward a 'classy' build style with this one. Modeling it after an FX4.

Some might ask why I didn't just buy an FX4, the answer is simple I do not like the MFT. My fiance has it in her Explorer, and her father has it in his Flex, and while I don't have any major issues with it, I hate that you can't turn off the screen. I like the radio setup for the STX more.

Plans:
Exterior:
  1. Tint the windows. (30% all round for legal reasons)
  2. Piano black 'B' pillar covers
  3. Add heated mirrors with turn signals
  4. Paint to match door handles, tailgate handle, and mirror caps
  5. Undercoat bottom of truck
  6. Install wheel well liners
  7. Change out head/tail lights for the FX4/Harley style
  8. Tonneau cover (bakflip) and/or bed cap (PTM)
  9. Chrome exhaust tip
  10. PTM the inlay on the F-150 badges
Interior:
  1. Kicker SoundGate Power Stage PF150C11
  2. Husky Liners X-act Contour Floor Liners
  3. LED swap (white light output)
  4. XLT center console
  5. Seat Covers (Clazzio w/heat) *Still debating this one*
  6. Might add some sound mat to stiffen the door metal and roof

Now for some pictures!

Again, this will be a slow build. Hoping to get tint within the next couple of months. :D

Looks like I will be adding one more thing to my list. A buddy of mine just gave me 4 sheets of StP sound mat that he had left over from his Camry he's been doing. Now most haven't heard of StP and the only reason I have is because that's what is sold on our island by the 1 shop that used to sell it. It's a great product, very similar to Dynamat or Second Skin. It's not as popular because there are only like 4 retailers of it in the USA.

So now that I have this I don't know where I should put it. I noticed the rain is kind of loud on the roof, and the doors shake when their closed so I am thinking of adding a bit every where but he floor...but I think I read somewhere that to remove the headliner in a SuperCrew you have to remove the front windshield, if that's the case..umm no thank you lol. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm familiar with this stuff as I did it to my last F-150 on the doors and my VW Golf on the doors and roof..but the Golf is a small car and so easy to work on its stupid. That and since this truck is BRAND NEW I don't want to fk anything up..

Has anyone removed the headliner without removing any main window? I'm hoping that maybe I can finagle it around and pull it out one of the rear doors or something. Also, any pointers on cleaning the rubber/vinyl flooring?

Beautiful truck. I have been waiting to see one in that color for a couple months now, ever since I found out they were offering it on the F150's.
my boss has a new fusion in that color.

^^Thanks man. I get a lot of people asking me if it's Ford Factory color or if I special ordered it because they haven't seen it before. I have the only F-150 with it and my dealer said he won't order more unless asked. :)

Just drop the headliner and let it rest on the seats. Reach in from the door and place the mat as needed. I don't know anything on the '04 ups though.
