Well I'm finally driving it and I'm ready to start some mods! First will be tires and will be coming in the next few weeks. Guy I'm selling Red to owns a tire shop, so I figure we'll cut a deal. Gotta get the leveling kit in also. Decided to go with a 2.5" Rough Country Suspension level with Performance 2.2 series shocks and 33"s of some sort. Anyone have suggestions on the tires I should go with?

you'll probably get a lot of "this is what i have and they are great" and to follow form, i have 295/70/17 toyo open country m/t's and I like them a lot, they don't have any real road noise to speak of, they are the best wearing m/t i've ever had (i bet i'll get over 40k on them easy), and the tread pattern and rubber compound seem to be pretty good all around. No snow in south Texas so i can't speak to that but rain, mud, sand, gravel... all really good but at <5mph speed i can feel the tread click on the road.

i have duratacs on my wife's 08 and they are very quite and smooth seem to be wearing very nicely but I don't really drive that truck to play around. I have had it in some mud and sand and have no complaints.

never had nittos but with their popularity, i'd assume they are pretty good... the only thing is that if you get 12.5" wide ones they are actually 13.39" according to their website and will be difficult to get them not to rub with just a level.

i've had super swampers and they wore out super quick (like 2 years and they were completely done) lots of road noise

i had the old general grabbers from the 90's... they were fine accept the wear was terrible... not sure if the new ones are much different but $270 a piece for 35's is pretty tempting.

I also had the dirk cepeks and they were made of a super hard rubber and when it got cold, i had no traction.

Thanks man, I was looking at duratracs and cepeks. The info on the cepeks should help cause the price online looked extremely tempting haha. I'm thinking duratracs or the new grabbers cause I've heard good things about them as well. How were the Dick Cepek's in any other situation? Cause it's never cold here except two or three months

they weren't terrible other wise... I wasn't thrilled with the cleaning ability of the tread pattern... seemed to really build up mud on them. the sidewalls seemed overly stiff; however, I had them on a jeep and the load rating would have been overkill for a f150 so take that for what it's worth. I wouldn't try then again but that's because of the awesome tread life and low highway noise i'm getting out of the toyos. I doubt I'll switch from them unless I see constant reviews of another m/t that mirror my experiences with the toyos and are significantly cheaper.

Yeah I'll look into the Toyos as well. A friend of mine has them and they look sick anyway haha. I just have to stay somewhat cheap.

the duratracs are cheap, look good, ride nice, low noise, and the wear is pretty good.

here they are on my wife's without a level... I think they are 285/70/18's
