My cover connects on the inside of the rails. So that gives me the top of the bed rail to mount the rack.

Mine sits on top of the rails so it would have to go. I've considered taking it off a few times but I like to be able to lock things under it too much. I can't always fit my stuff in the cab.

Mine locks too. You just need one that mounts in between the rails and not on top of the rails

I hope you don't mind me asking a couple questions about your lift setup, but I have a 2wd XL and want to lift it but don't have the funds for a $1000+ lift kit. I will hopefully be getting a set of 20" wheels soon which I know will make me a bit higher. I see that you're good at using your resources wisely and would enjoy knowing how I can get lifted without blowing up my wallet.

How high are you looking to go? What size tires?

I'm at stock height now and want 3-6" of lift. I will most likely have 33s put on with the 20" wheels and will install 2.5" leveling spacers.

So ya that's going to be the cheapest. You can 3" leveling spacers with AALS in the back, or blocks but I usually try and stay away from those. 6" if you don't want to spend the money on the full kits would have to be a 3" level and 3" BL and it's only going to be cheaper if you install it all yourself. Also, if you plan on doing anything offroad, which not sure you are because it's 2wd, but don't wheel with 20" wheels

Sorry to keep asking questions but if I put the 2.5" leveling spacers on, I will be even with the back. So what do I do after that to get lift? Something like Bilsteins?

You dont want to stack lifts like that. A level in the front you generally dont want to go more than 2.5inchs cause of bad angles and busted *****.

If you are good with 2.5 up front, you can either replace your back block with a 3inch or go the AAL route.

Honestly just do this lol http://www.roughcountry.com/ford-sus...it-568-20.html perfect poor mans lift, I'm probably going to do the same soon just to start dipping my toes in the water
