My little big truck
I had an exhaust leak reveal itself a couple months ago on the truck so naturally the responsible thing to do is install shorty headers while i was at it.
Then it became "i'll just replace that 2.5" pipe with a 3" and get rid of the tiny cat"
Then i discovered this:
yes, boys and girls, the yahoo that fabbed up this y pipe FORGOT TO CUT OUT A HOLE FOR THE OTHER HEADER. so the passenger side header was only breathing through this crossover pipe for the o2 sensor.
so... had to pull the y pipe and basically remake it. this time with a 2.5 mandrel bend.
super high flow cat
old vs new
wont be needing this anymore
one header on. the previous owner glued (with RVT?) the dipstick in SO i had to cut the tab for it to bolt to the engine. gotta figure out how im gonna keep it stationary. engine fires are bad.
i fabbed up it all using stock manifolds so hopefully my y pipe bolts up (as it should) and the other header goes on without a hitch. still gotta put the locking washers on the drivers side.

Got her all back together. didn't have time to fab the side pipes so its crazy loud but i don't hear any ticking indicating a leak at the headers and nothing caught on fire so i guess all is well. The truck runs a lot better and throttle response is instant now. Its no beast or anything but its not retarded slow on the street anymore.
the cam is a ford racing E cam I think.

got a bedcover and fabbed a sidepipe to go with the new ultraflo 3" muffler #BecauseRoadKill. the janky 3 to 2 2.5" flowmaster thing was way too loud.

thanks! aesthetically she's actually pretty beat up. I'm only really concerned about the functional stuff since she's a daily driver. the old girl can actually spin the tires now from a dead stop so i think the exhaust upgrade helped quite a bit

So.. the little big truck which was mechanically perfect and ran like a scalded dog... is now dead. The black tahoe hit me from the rear going like 70, shoved me into the buick THEN shoved the buick AND my truck into the car in front.... then the tahoe slid 100 feet rolling over twice. all glory to God for no one being seriously injured.
