It's been a while. I hope u guys are doing fine.
Since it was the Eid Holidays here, everything was closed.
I just received this morning my SCT X4 tuner from MPT! and also, after relocating the license plate, the middle was too empty, so i got myself a lower grille.

I loaded the canned tunes, while waiting for MPT to send me the custom tunes in the next couple of days. First i did the 91 tune, I seriously didnt feel any improvement in performance, apart from a slighter better throttle response.
Then i loaded the 93 tune, an even better throttle, better performance but wasent really impressed.
What i didnt like in the X4, is that it takes really a long time to download the stock tune. When it comes to uploading the tune, its a breeze.
I also faced an issue, getting an error code on my first 5 attempts.

That was solved later on, which will seem weird, when i closed all the doors before downloading the stock file to the device. Thats the only thing i did differently.

Now im having high hopes for MPT custom tunes, Please dont let me down.

You won't really see much from the 5.4. The 5.4 is a dog for modding. I mean you will see some performance gains but nothing like you would for the 5.0 or Ecoboost. Hope the customs do something man.

Now thats not encouraging
I know the 5.4L isint made for performance, but to be fair, i never expected a lot from the truck to begin with. By reading threads about custom tunes and that it was a difference of night and day compared to the canned tunes. Yesterday i went dining in a restaurant that's around 70 miles away. On the way back i floored it, the truck performs much better than i first tested it after uploading the canned tune. If the custom tunes give me 20% performance over the canned tunes i would be satisfied. I still have high hopes that Mike MorePowerTuning will do a great job.
I'm still waiting for those 4.56 gears too

The guys at MPT are awesome, I can't wait to get my tuner and some custom tunes from them. The custom tunes will help out a lot, they are better than the canned tunes.

Well, I was supposed to receive my custom tunes today, but instead there seemed to be a problem with my ECU strategy, it's not supported? Hopefully they will sort it out.

Also, my front diff was leaking and i didnt notice. I went camping with friends last night, and i heard some grinding noise coming from the front diff, at first i thought it was the traction, but i ended loosing my 4x4. Eventually i got stuck, and pulled out. When i got on solid ground, i looked at the front diff and the fluid was all over the cover.
What happened last night gave me a push towards getting done with the regearing mod ive been looking forward to do.

You going with 4.10 or 4.56 gears? I'm sure both would work beautifully on the sand.

I took the truck for a good wash today, on the same street was the performance shop, so i took it there afterwards and checked again the front differential. Its toast It leaked most of the oil and apparently i went overboard using the 4x4.. Luckily he had the Yukons in 4.56 so i bought them Now im just missing the traction device. The guy wanted to push the Duragrip on me, but i asked for the Truetrac. Now is it worth getting the TT for both ends or just the rear would be enough?

Installation will take place ASA we get the TT

I think the rear end would suffice.

I was aiming to go on both ends, which would be about 600$ more to the bill. Even the guy at the shop said only the rear end would suffice adding the regearing on top of it, and if im not satisfied he can get the front TT and do the work for a fraction of what i will pay now.
I guess ill give it a try and see for myself.

The only problem I see with putting a TT in the front diff is when you put power to it, it will add to the wear and tear off the front diff again. People have been doing just fine with an open rear end, but if you think you need it you might add well get it now instead of later
