Default My F150 FX4 to Raptor Conversion

First time poster. Been following the site, checking in on Ecoboost to Raptor conversions.

Picked up a 3.5L EcoBoost, 2013 FX4 from CoPart Auto Auction with the idea of converting it to a Raptor body style.

So here goes......

I was looking at your album pictures and that truck looks pretty rough lol!! However there are a few guys on here who have bought wrecked trucks and turned them into raptors. Good luck with your conversion and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Default F150 to Raptor Conversion.

The vehicle was a "soft" roll over is there is such a thing. Hood and front left fender need replaced as well as right bedside. Left bedside had a few dents but easily repairable. Same for left front fender. Left door skin might need to be replaced but I am hoping that when I pull back on the door where it is bowed in from the mirror breaking off, most of the sheetmetal will return to its normal state. Right side doors are undamaged as well as the left rear door. The biggest challenge is the roof top. I am going to split the roof opening and just replace the front half.

What I hope to do with this thread is fully document all the steps to doing the sheetmetal conversion using fiberwork glass kit. I never could find anyone that actual showed the removal of a bedside and installing one of these bedsides.

I just need to learn how to install pictures in my posting to help with the words. For some reason I can't get pictures to upload yet. Need to read some more about how to do this.

Follow along this should be interesting.

If you host your pictures on photobucket you can copy the IMG code into the reply box and the pictures will post.

Default My F150 to Raptor Conversion Continues.

In between life issues, finally made some headway on the truck. Removed crushed windshield. Removed sunroof and interior seating to allow for easy access while working damaged roof area.

Found a donor roof section in Ky. Found replacement side air bags just a few miles from home.

Repairing roof section was not as hard as I thought it might be. But as always there are lessons learned and things I would do different the next time around. For one I would make a wood buck to fit the sunroof opening to ensure a better control of the dimensional opening vs trying to use the sunroof glass itself.
